Male Arrest for Burglary and Vehicle Theft

On May 25, 2022 at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers assigned to Glendale PD’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) were travelling near the intersection of Flower St. and Sonora Ave. when they noticed a male riding an electric motorcycle/bicycle and carrying tools on the sidewalk.  The officers conducted an enforcement stop and the electric motorcycle/bicycle rider, later identified as 27-year-old Fernando Angel of Los Angeles, initially refused to comply with officers’ commands to get off the bike, and he continued riding.  Ultimately, Angel collided with a curb lane after riding at a high rate of speed and was detained by officers.  A search of Angel’s person produced gloves, a designer bag with shattered pieces of glass inside of it and containing clothing and vehicle paperwork, two sets of wire cutters, and a demo hammer drill box.  A records check of the electric motorcycle/bicycle Angel was riding revealed that it had been reported stolen.  Further investigation revealed that the hammer drill box had been stolen from a local business moments before the officers contacted Angel.  Angel was subsequently arrested and booked for burglary, shoplifting, vehicle theft, and obstructing.
